旱骨桩，又叫旱魃，或旱鬼。其实应该就是僵尸的一种。每逢大旱之年，这类东西便会出现，又或许正是因为这类东西的出现，才会出现大旱之年。据老人讲，一般这种东西的形成是因为这人死前是带着怨气入葬的，到了一定年头便会走出墓地，不停的喝水来保持自身与在棺材里的体温大抵相似，但要命的是这玩意是带着怨气出来的，据说会吃人。

在事情总爆发以前，已经连续一个多星期，村里的人议论纷纷，说是哪个村子里出现了旱骨桩，有人看见那东西从坟地里爬出来后在沟边喝水，有人看见它吃地里的青蛙，又有人说他家的牛不见了，怀疑旱骨桩给吃了。事情越传越邪乎，后来有人站出来说是查明了，那个坟地是我们小学的一个老师的墓地。那位老师，大伙是知道的，就是因为跟媳妇吵架打了起来，然后一气之下喝农药死了。这样以来，确实是比较吻合了，应该就是闹旱骨桩了。
当时那个旱骨桩只是在夜里出现，属于比较奇怪的一个。于是每到夜幕降临前，家家都封门闭户了，村里的狗也闹的出奇，每逢半夜时分，便叫唤的厉害。但一到白天，便啥事也没有，只是村里的动物遭了秧，这家的羊被什么东西咬死了，那家的牛不见了。由于白天一般没什么状况，学校照常上课。
这天早晨，我和同村的几个小伙伴刚走进校门，就发现气氛不对，校园里站满了学生，没人在教室里待着，老师们好像在开会。找个同学一问，说是三年纪二班的一个同学在教室里看见了一个白影的东西，他们班的同学在一片尖叫声中都跑了出来。这个事情说来也奇怪，高年级的

学校停课，警察来调查状况。后来，警察抓住了一帮盗窃团伙。这帮家伙们作案时全身披着白麻，趁着大旱之年，打着旱骨桩的旗号吓唬村民，以便于作案。这在我们当地是很出名的一起盗窃案例，不过现在倒成了茶余饭后闲谈的聊料之一了。然而，当时的民风现在看来还算比较纯朴的，盗窃分子还是有些心虚的，打着鬼魂的旗号先来吓人然后再盗东西。现在他们的同类中人估计要笑话他们的前辈了，因为他们已经是明目张胆的抢掠了，大白天入室打劫杀人之类的，已是家常便饭了。
